The Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services Board of Directors and Staff want to announce a move of the Southeast Kaufman County Senior Citizens Center from Kemp to Mabank. At the same time we want to thank the citizens of the southeast area of Kaufman County for over 25 years of support of the center located on Dallas Street in Kemp. The sharing of the building for many years allowed a place for the senior citizens to meet and have meals and participate in activities. A huge amount of gratitude is extended to the current Southeast Kaufman County Senior Citizens Center Board of Directors and to the past directors who have worked hard to provide the building.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the City of Mabank for the invitation to be part of the outstanding park area being prepared for the residents. The building and the support provided by the City allows Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services, Inc. to provide services in the fastest growing area of Southeast Kaufman County.
This change of address for the Senior Citizens Center is prompted by the need to be located in a more central area of the growing population of the southeast corner of Kaufman County. The activities provided to the senior citizens will not change by the move. The seniors from all around this area will continue to be transported by STAR Transit, formerly KART.
Kaufman County Senior Citizens Services, Inc. Board of Directors and Staff want to extend a special invitation to all the senior citizens in this area to come by and visit the new location and join in the activities. The Center Director is Lisa Smith and the new phone number is 903-887-0067. The center is located at 405 West Walnut in the George Watts Ball Park in Mabank. Watch the newspaper for the grand opening.

About the Senior Center In Mabank
The Senior Center at the Ball Park in Mabank, Texasis a place for all senior citizens 60 years old and older, to come make lots of new friends, participate in many activities, eat lunch , and just have lots of fun.
We are open Monday through Friday, and during the week we have many scheduled activities. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays we have several 42 tables (dominos) going. We have a scheduled Bible Study every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. We also have a 40 minute exercise class on Mon., Wed.,and Fri.
Tuesdays and Thursdays we have bingo games going. We have many different things we do throughout the month just to add a little variety to our activities. Every third Tuesday of the month we have an evening dance with a live country and western band with a covered dish dinner. Every last Wednesday of the month we have a Pot Luck Birthday lunch.
As you can tell, we have lots of fun here at our center, but if you were to walk into our center you would not only make new friends, but find a new family. The seniors at our center are all extremely close. When one of them has a problem, we all have a problem. We are always here for one another.
We also serve a well balanced lunch every day at noon. A $2.00 donation is suggested, but not mandatory. We also have a Meals on Wheels Program that delivers meals to Seniors that are not able to get out . We deliver 2 different routes around Kemp and Mabank to Seniors who live in Kaufman County. All of our meals are delivered by volunteers. At the present time we have approximately 20 volunteers that give their time each and every day. Most days the only face the Seniors may see is the Meals On Wheels volunteer, so these volunteers make a BIG impact each and every day.
