Inclement Weather Closings for Meals On Wheels Program
The safety of our all-volunteer MOW drivers is our utmost priority. Our Clients are given shelf-stable meals to use when our drivers are unable to deliver meals because of unsafe driving conditions. These meals are replaced after usage.
Inclement Weather Closings
We do not deliver in snow or ice. We provide county wide services, and therefore must consider road conditions for the entire county The decision to close our offices is made early in the morning during inclement weather to stop meal deliveries
The MOW Director in your area will give you a call to advise you that your area
will be closed during bad road conditions.
If the school in your area is is closed due to bad weather conditions, the meals
will not be delivered for the duration of the school closing.
We appreciate our volunteer's time, concern, and dedication to delivering meals to the homebound citizens in Kaufman and Navarro counties. Without volunteer support, we would be unable help as many of our citizens as we do.
