The Forney Senior Citizen Center, also known as the "Layden Senior Center" is open to everyone, but caters to our citizens that are 60 years and older. We are open Mon-Fri from 8am to 2pm. We have a variety of activities to offer at our center. Daily you can take advantage of the several 42 domino tables, card games, puzzle tables, and you can always find an abundance of friendship at our center. Some of our regular activities include covered dish meals, bingo, birthday celebrations, health and nutrition demonstrations, and low impact excercise equipment is always available at our center.

Every year we host our annual crowning of the king and queen at our annual “indoor picnic” on the 4th of July. We love to celebrate each holiday with style!!

The Forney Senior Center provides a nutricious hot lunch Monday through Friday for our seniors, and also prepares meals for the Meals On Wheels (MOW) program. Our MOW program serves the Forney and Crandall areas of Kaufman County. This program could not possibly function without the vital dedication of the tewnty volunteers that pack and deliver meals each week to the elderly and home bound citizens in our area. The Community Development Department for the city of Forney helps the Meals On Wheels Program by delivering meals once a week

Star Transit is always available to provide transportation to and from the center if needed. This public transportation service will pick you up at your door, and then take you back home when you are ready. So please come on in to enjoy good food and great fellowship.
